Well Hey everyone.

This is it. This is my last email. I don't really have much to say because well it's been a time of mixed feelings that is for sure. We have a wedding this week on the 10th for a family that we are going to complete. And on the 11th is the baptism. Nothing better than a family baptism for the last Sunday.

I love the Lord. I love Guatemala. I know this is the true church. There is no doubt in my mind about it. The Book of Mormon is true and Christ died for all of us. I don't have much more to say, I could go on and on about things about the Gospel, I've done it for 2 years now. I'm excited to see you all very soon and I hope you all know I love you.

Hey Everyone,

Well this has been a fun week. Just 1 more email after today. It's all so crazy I don't really believe it! But we have been having a lot of success and well good things are happening.

On Sunday we had 6 men attend priesthood meeting that are from San Vicente Pacaya and that means that if they continue going and are all worthy, San Vicente Qualifies to be a branch!!!! Wahoo! President Tejeda the Stake President already sent the papers in to have it made into a branch. And we had 5 investigators as well and all 5 of them are preparing for the 11th of September

Dilia Martinez and her daughter Suleidy are super excited for their baptism on the 11th. We are also working with a reference from a member and her name is Kimberly Peralta, she also went to church and wants to be baptized the 11th of september and the biggest miracle that we had was a man named Natanael. He contacted us in the street and called us to talk to him. We went and he explained that he had found 2 books of the Teaching of the Prophets: Joseph fielding smith and Lorenzo Snow and he had read both of them He had also read the Book of Mormon. He had called Utah and they sent him to a church but then his car broke down so he could not go. Later some Sister missionaries went by but they stopped visiting him. Then we were walking in the street and he came to us and told us he knows the church is true and will do anything to be baptized. He went on Sunday and it was definitely a promise fulfilled that the Lord will guide people to us sometimes. So that is what we have going on right now. We hope to have 5 people for this 11th and soon after it gets approved this place will be a branch!

Love you all

Hey everyone,

I am really hurting today. For Pday we got together with 3 other zones and had like a soccer tournament. I played goalie... can't do much with my feet but my hands are monsters when it comes to playing sports. I was the only one who could play goalie so they gave me no sub... I am so tired and my arm hurts it's not really used to throwing anymore haha but it's all good because we are going to see miracles in this week.

This Sunday we had a really big miracle. We had been given a reference of a member that is inactive and his wife and kids that aren't members, but we had never been able to find them. We went Sunday after church and they were home. We talked to them and well they are pretty excited to attend church and the wife, Dilian and her daughter commited to baptism the 11th of September. We even have their wedding planned for the 10th because they aren't married. That was a super miracle for sure! It would be my last Sunday as well so that would be super awesome. We are going to be working with this family as well as others.

I love this work. I would go on into a long description of why, but I think that says it clearly enough. I love you all

Hey everyone!

This week we had our first baptism in Pacaya! It was awesome! Karelin Osorio and her sisters have been going to church and all the activities for awhile now and well we asked her at one of the activities if she had prayed about baptism. She said she had and wanted to be baptized. She even invited some of her friends to the baptism. My companion baptized him and it was his first baptism. It was a truly spiritual service and also helped all the members increase their hope in this area.

We also were able to have 6 investigators going to church on Sunday. We plan to have even more this week! This has been the experience of a lifetime opening this area. We are learning a lot and going to have an even more succesful week this week! I love you all!

August 9, 2016

Hey everyone!
Well this has been a great first week. We have found a ton of new investigators. We haven't slept much because that's part of the whole training experience but it has been a blast. We are working with lots of families because that is what this church needs to grow: families. We have found lots of miracles as well.
One miracle happened Saturday in the morning, we were waiting for a bus to go to a little village in our area where there are members. As we were waiting a man approached us and asked "Elders what are you doing here?"  We explained to him that the church was opening in this area and he asked us for a Book of Mormon. He is a member but has been inactive for 11 years because there wasn't a church nearby to where he lives but he is excited to begin attending again and is going to bring his family and his children are still not members! That was a huge miracle and we are going to visit this man's family this week and help them come back and make sure his children are baptized so they can enter into the temple.
We have had lots of experiences like this but we need to get people to church on Sunday. So this week we have planned 2 activities in the church in order for people to go and gain trust in us so that they have no problems in going on Sunday. This has been an awesome experience but it also makes me a little sad because I would love to be in an area and work like this a lot longer than what I have left. But I push forward! Miracles are happening.
Love you all,

Hey Everyone,

Well 2 days ago I said my goodbyes to Solola and well, it was hard but at the same time I was super excited to start this next and last change. I have a picture here of me in a traditional Solola suit that lots of people there still wear. It is super hot but it's stylin, it was only to try on and take a picture. I know it's stylin but I will not be coming home with one of those on. Sorry. You'll have to wait for the style to hit the states.

Well the new change has begun. I am training!!! Wahoo!!! I love training!!! My kid is Elder Rodriguez right out of the MTC. He is from Santiago Chile. Wait right out of the MTC and I left my area. Yep that's right we are opening a brand new area!!! We are so excited, the area is called San Vicente Pacaya. It is a little town right at the bottom of a volcanoe. And yes... it is active. Pray for me ;) We are the first missionaries in the history of this area!

It was quite the experience in getting to our area but we were able to make it safely. It is a group that they are starting and the church is a little house, kind of like how it was in La Noria. There are only like 12 members in our area but the other people are really receiving, yesterday in the short amount of time we worked we talked with 3 families that were positive and said they were going to church. I am super excited to work here, there is a lot of work to be done it maked me wish that there were more time to do it. We are going to give our all and see lots of miracles. I love you all!

Hey Everyone,

Well so that you all know, next week is the beginning of my last transfer. Wow the time has flown by. According to the rumors (or what President told me this morning) i will now be leaving Solola and going to finish my mission in another area, but I will let you all know next wednesday. All I know is that Solola has changed me forever, I love this place.

This week we had an awesome miracle! We had a baptism!! Eva Yoxon was baptized. We found her when I was with Elder Kendall. She is the girfriend of the guy who is right next to her in the pictures. She has shown a lot of faith as she has prepared for baptism because her family is not in agreement but she made her own decision and has a strong testimony of the church. We were also able to bring an investigator to her baptism and he sat on the front row and was able to feel the spirit during the service. He should be baptized very soon now, his name is Jose Alfredo.

This time in Solola has flown and I am so thankful for every minute of it! I can't wait to continue working hard. I have 1 more change to do some good as a missionary but there is also a whole lifetime of doing good waiting as well. This is the true church. There are miracles and power in this gospel. Love you all, have a great week.
